WHAT IS IT?
Osteoporosis is a chronic condition. It is a skeletal disorder characterized by reduced bone strength, which puts affected individuals at risk for fractures. Osteoporosis can be diagnosed based either on “spontaneous” fractures, that is, fractures that occur without significant prior trauma, or by measuring bone density using the DXA (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) method. Most patients with osteoporosis are asymptomatic, a fact that makes epidemiological research particularly difficult.
MONITORING
Follow-up with an endocrinologist is essential for the proper management of osteoporosis with the appropriate treatment. At the clinics CarE MediC , osteoporosis is diagnosed, and medical guidance is provided for its safe and effective management.
