It is shaped like  <\/span><b>butterfly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  and is located in the  <\/span><b>cervix<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in front of the  <\/span><b>trachea<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  and below the  <\/span><b>larynx<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It consists of  <\/span><b>two<\/b> <b>lobes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the  <\/span><b>right-wing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  and the  <\/span><b>left<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who join forces with the  <\/span><b>isthmus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The thyroid gland produces the  <\/span><b>thyroid<\/b> <b>hormones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, especially the  <\/span><b>T3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  and  <\/span><b>T4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which contribute to  <\/span><b>adjustment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  of  <\/span><b>metabolism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, of the  <\/span><b>temperature<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  of  <\/span><b>body<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  and the  <\/span><b>energy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Sometimes, this gland may  <\/span><b>is not working properly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It may also occur after  <\/span><b>total<\/b> <b>thyroidectomy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, if the patient does not receive  <\/span><b>sufficient<\/b> <b>quantity<\/b> <b>thyroxine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most <\/span><b>common<\/b> <b>symptoms<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of <\/span><b>hypofunction<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>thyroid<\/b> <b>gland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">easily fatigued<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">weakness<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deployment of forces<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">drowsiness<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hoarseness<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bradycardia<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">intolerance to cold<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">weight gain<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">constipation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">loss of eyebrow hair, dry skin, and dry scalp<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">menstrual cycle disorders<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">periorbital and pretibial edema, facial edema<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">slowness of thought and inability to concentrate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">depressed mood<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">mood disorder with depressive symptoms<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>clinical<\/b> <b>examination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>measurement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of <\/span><b>thyroid<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and antibodies will lead to the <\/span><b>diagnosis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
